Let’s have a look:
–Food Stamp President.
–Holding down the fort.
Now use them in a paragraph.
Hey, you people, you angry Chicago apartment privileged golf playing professor type of people. Don’t you know that the experienced Food Stamp President is burning the Constitution while Holding Down the Fort and is doing everything but throwing the Kitchen Cabinet to oppress the masses with Obamacare?
Wow used them all. Hey did you get my coded racial hate message out of them???
The left has been extremely successful in using the media, the arts and entertainment, and academia to define the debate in their terms. Compassion, in the broader culture, MEANS socialist government welfare programs. Reason inherently excludes matters involving religion and theology. Marriage MEANS sexism and unrealistic, old-fashioned, prudish, and hypocritical sexual morality. Science MEANS philosophical naturalism, Darwinism, and anthropogenic “climate change”. Conservatism MEANS racism, sexism, homophobia, and bigotry.
That Marxism is based on demonstrably false historical analysis, flawed economic assumptions, and has proven in practice to lead only to brutal, tyrannical, dictatorships is kept out of the narrative by the media/entertainment/academic gate keepers. And since apologists from Marxism sit in all the chairs of all the economic departments of all the major universities, most people in the culture at large assume that they, therefore, must be the smartest folks in the room. The same holds true with the debunked theories of postmodernism, Darwinism, and environmentalism.
The climate-gate e-mails demonstrate how these gate-keepers have squelched intellectual debate, doctored and falsified their data, suppressed contrary evidence, silenced, held back, and even ended the careers of dissenting voices.
The brilliance of the gate keepers is not in their reasoning, their science, or their credentials. It’s in their ability to use our money to fund themselves in their roles shutting out conservatives from their institutions. Our entertainment dollars fund their control over the movie, television, and music industry. Our tax dollars, handed out as scholarships and student loans as well as EPA, research, and educational grants, fund their control over the halls of academia. Our tax dollars handed out as welfare payments fund their efforts to destroy the family.
Our challenge is finding ways around these gate-keepers. We need to locate the cracks in their crumbling empires (because they ARE collapsing) and break through to those people who only get their information and form their opinions based on what the media, the arts, and the academy tell them.
It takes money and an effort. The left has long enjoyed control of the media, pop culture outlets, and academia. That’s three primary social institutions. And they guard them. It isn’t as simple as encouraging young conservatives to take up a career in those industries. Being openly conservative is an easy way to make sure your career never takes off in them…
The internet has helped crack the liberal stranglehold on the news media, but it will take financial backing to put a dent in the other two.
It can be done. I think probably fairly easily if conservatives are willing to finance it: Conservative themed movies and TV shows can flourish just as alternative internet sites and talk radio have. Americans know Hollywood and elsewhere on the left think the majority of them are ignorant backward thinking boobs. Shows that fight that stereotype can do well. Well-made religious fare can also win big.
Academia will be harder to crack due to blackballing in the hiring and tenuring process, but funding of conservatives encouraged to pursue a career in the humanities in higher education coupled with a concerted effort to publicize the lack of diversity on campus across the nation can work over time. Problem with this idea is the average “Joe” has been brainwashed into thinking that Conservatives are mean-spirited, racist, blah blah (the typical marxocrat meme).
Somehow the brainwashing has to stop on two fronts:
1. Stop brainwashing our kids
2. Deprogram all the adults who have been brainwashed by the marxocrats.
Just curious, exactly what are these people protesting? Since this whole stupid thing started, I don’t believe I have ever heard a real, substantive reason. It sounds more like; “WAAAH! WAAAH! GIVE US MORE, WAAAH!
Wealth inequality seems to be an issue; you mean the people who screwed around in school, didn’t graduate, or barely did and are a poor worker all his or her life? Those people versus the successful who work an average of 65 hours a week to make a better life for themselves and their families? There is no wealth inequality, just people with job skill that are worth more. Stop looking for handouts. You forgot smoking dope for the majority of their waking hours; not that you could tell.
Wealth inequality? Is that when one guy does the bare minimum to keep his job, calling out sick as often as he can, milking every hour he spends at work, while another fellow works extra hours, a second job, and buys rental properties to supplement his income and support his family? Is this what these protesters (and you) consider ‘unfair’? Is the second fellow the one who you, and the protesters want to pay his ‘fair share’ while the first skates on by?
There are times when I almost feel sorry for the OWS losers. It just boggles the mind that anybody thinks that punishing the “rich” will make their lives better. You people are just political pawns in Obama’s class warfare rhetoric, and you blindly follow like sheep right over the cliff, once you get the energy to leave your mommy’s basement.
The bottom line is that the OWS protesters have accomplished NOTHING other than leaving a smelly stench behind anything they’ve “occupied”.
Keep being useful idiots. Someday, somehow, “some” of you will wake up and realize that it’s time to get a life and contribute something useful to society. Not all, but some.
This nonsense going on in Oakland has about as much to do with the “Occupy” movement as Maher in a church. The original pretense had some decent points but that quickly deteriorated into an excuse to riot and damage property.
What I would like to know is why there is such a lack of testicular fortitude in our government to call this crap what it is and get it out of there. Oakland businesses cannot afford this and left to fester this will only get more violent.
Liberals have reduced America to a cowardly, sniveling country of politically correct whiners, who drive electric “smart” cars, conserve water because they’ve been told there is a “shortage”, and rely on government officials to tell them what kind of light bulbs they are to use. It’s called the “chickification of the nation”, and its misery will last – and spread – as long as liberals are in charge. Testicular fortitude went out when Ronald Reagan left the scene.
Thugs. This is the state of the contemporary left. Having been fed a constant stream of narcissistic self-indulgence, been told they are morally superior without having the burden of behaving moral, the modern leftist has become exactly what she claims the rest of us are.
Brutish, ignorant thugs.
What’s behind Campus Crusade for Christ’s name change?
Starting next year, one of the most robust ministries on American college campuses will officially be known by a new name. Campus Crusade for Christ in the U.S. is changing its name to Cru.
Established in 1951 by Bill and Vonette Bright, the evangelical parachurch organization is manned by more than 25,000 staff members who operate 29 different ministries in 191 countries.
“The U.S. ministry hopes the new name will overcome existing barriers and perceptions inherent in the original name,” according to a statement released by the ministry.
Cru isn’t an acronym or unfamiliar shorthand. Many evangelicals already refer to the group simply as “Crusade.”
Okay, Here is the Money Line Folks:
“It’s become a flash word for a lot of people. It harkens back to other periods of time and has a negative connotation for lots of people across the world, especially in the Middle East,” said Steve Sellers, vice president for the U.S. for Campus Crusade for Christ, as reported by Christianity Today “In the ‘50s, crusade was the evangelistic term in the United States. Over time, different words take on different meanings to different groups.”
The new name was unveiled last week during the ministry’s biennial conference for U.S. staff held in Fort Collins, Colo. Its board approved beginning the process to change the name in 2009 and the recommendation of Cru earlier this year.
The new name was chosen out of a pool of 1,600 which was narrowed down to five. Ideas came from donors, volunteers, staff and the general public.
“We kept going back to people to try to better understand what it is they best appreciate about our organization,” Sellers said during a telephone interview this week. “In light of our commitment to our mission, we sought their input as well as spending a lot of time in prayer before we selected a name.”
While the process for choosing the new name ramped up in recent years, its roots date back to what Bill Bright, who died in 2003, expressed decades ago.
“From the beginning, Bill was open to changing our name. He never felt it was set in stone. In fact, he actually considered changing the name 20 or 25 years ago,” Vonette Bright said in a news release. “We want to remove any obstacle to people hearing about the most important person who ever lived—Jesus Christ.”
“Most of the international ministries affiliated with Cru use a name other than Campus Crusade for Christ,” Religion News Service reported. “Its Canadian affiliate is called Power to Change and European ministries use the name Agape.”
Beyond campuses, its outreach and $490 million annual revenue happen via book sales, distribution of evangelical tracts and sales of the Jesus Film, which is available in 1,129 languages, according to Christianity Today .
“Our surveys show that, in the U.S., 20 percent of the people willing to consider the gospel are less interested in talking with us after they hear the name. We are changing the name for the sake of more effective ministry,” explained the group’s Web site.
When asked about the timing and whether it reflected a new direction, Sellers said the ministry seeks to increase its effectiveness and relevance. The name is different but its mission hasn’t changed, he said.
“Our commitment is to Jesus Christ and we debated long and hard about whether to keep the name in the name,” he said. “We concluded that our organization is about helping people know him. … To put it in the name of the organization isn’t the most important issue. The real question is is the organization being effective in communicating what Jesus Christ stands for?”

King James Version (KJV)
32Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
How Pathetic that a Christian body is afraid to proclaim his name.
