“He won seven games, he brought them [Denver] into the playoffs, for heaven sakes. I mean, they were a nothing team. He rallied them together with spectacular last-minute passes and, you know, when they beat Buffalo — I mean, Pittsburgh, excuse me — it was a tremendous victory,” Robertson said on “The 700 Club.”
“And you just ask yourself, OK, so Peyton Manning was a tremendous MVP quarterback, but he’s been injured. If that injury comes back, Denver will find itself without a quarterback. And in my opinion, it would serve them right.”
Some people may look at Robertson and say he’s a whack job and religious freak, but I actually think he makes some good points. Tebow led a major turnaround last season and was showed the door after the year. The Broncos are also taking a risk by signing Peyton Manning. However, it’s a risk they should take.
If you have the opportunity to replace Tim Tebow with Peyton Manning, you seize it. I don’t believe Peyton Manning will be able to play the entire season without injury issues, and I don’t think he’ll win another Super Bowl, but the team has greater potential under him than they do with Tebow at quarterback.
I am never been a huge fan of Pat Robertson. He continually gives the Secular-Progressive crowd ammo to try to shove down the rest of America’s throats that God and the bible is only used as a “weapon” by old, angry, white, Bible Bangers. He is the very definition of “Bully Pulpit” when he continues to shove his “God is an angry God” mantra on everyone else. I realize that CBN and the 700 Club are his creations but someone needs to take him aside and say “Pat, it’s time to go.”
Pat, close your eyes and pray for Tebow. You’re getting delusional at your age. Your followers have made you a rich man. And you gave away $82 million worth of stock at a much higher value than was the case, so your son’s capital gain would be minimal when he decides to get rid of it. What a freak show it is with these televangelists. They get rich at the expense of their followers then don’t even pay the taxes as required by the code.
Someone should stop Pat Robertson from taking to the airwaves- he is obviously suffering from old age dementia and the confusion/fear/anger that often accompanies it. I’ve been around several older gentlemen, who were, in their prime, vibrant, even powerful, men. Often, when they begin losing their faculties, the confusion they suffer makes them fearful and the fear is replaced by anger- against even those they love. It’s sad to see, but we don’t get to choose the way and the time at which we die. Old age is neither for sissies nor for the caretakers.
Please, someone, help Mr. Robertson stay off the air and enable him to maintain his dignity.
