EUREKA, California- Although Planned Parenthood has frequently complained of pro-life prayer vigils – particularly the biannual 40 Days for Life Campaign – one California Planned Parenthood affiliate seems to have chosen an unusually direct way of countering such efforts.
Last month, Six Rivers Planned Parenthood (SRPP) of Eureka, California, launched a campaign called the 40 Days of Prayer: Supporting Women Everywhere. The campaign, as noticed by Liberty Counsel, lists 40 different prayers for those involved in the “sacred care” of abortions to continue protecting, providing, and embracing the procedure – including mothers, escorts, abortionists, and everyone involved except the unborn children.
Some examples include Day 14, a prayer for “Christians everywhere to embrace the loving model of Jesus in the way he refused to shame women,” and Day 38, for “a cloud of gentleness to surround every abortion facility. May everyone feel calm and loving.”
Okay- let me get this straight. In one type of abortion they snip with scissors the spine at the base of the skull; suck the brains out with a vacuum; collapse the skull, and yank the fetus out (partial birth abortion). Okay. Or there are abortions where they inject saline into the womb so that the baby ingests the poison- it can take up to an hour for the baby to struggle and then finally die. It’s called “saline amniocentesis” or “salt poisoning abortion”. Guess who came up with that type of abortion? Nazis in concentration camps where they enjoyed experimenting on pregnant women. Or there is the D & E (dilation and evacuation) in which they dilate the mother, insert surgical instruments and remove the baby piece by piece. Or the live birth abortions as late as 23 weeks where the baby is born alive and simply left to die. Doesn’t this all sound loving and peaceful? These people refuse to call it what it is and try to sanitize it for consumption. Hypocritical sick people trying to call on people to pray for abortion providers? I could only pray that they develop a conscience and realize what they are doing is sick.
Since they’re seeing their business disappear due to the success of the 40 Days for Life campaign, they might think this to be their best way of fighting us. They can’t make prayer illegal, and they can’t fight peaceful protest, so what else can they do than try to beat us at our own “game” (for lack of a better word)? They can’t beat us, they certainly won’t join us, and all they really have left is prayer.
I say let them try, since God doesn’t always answer in the affirmative, anyway. Just because they pray for something doesn’t mean that He will give them what they want. They’re welcome to try; it is a free country, after all. Hopefully they will be converted through all of their prayer, and they’ll come to learn the error of their ways.
But yes – we must pray for all these people – Jesus died for them….He came to save the “unrighteous” and those blinded & held in “prison” by Satan. So we all need to pray for them and also try to point them to the Truth whenever we have the opportunity. I think God is allowing all this to happen in order to show us how evil and corrupt people can become, even in a “Christian” nation & hopefully wake up all apathetic Christians. We are in very dire straits in all areas.
