Representative Charlie Rangel (D-NY) is doing what most liberal Democrats do when they want to move forward unpopular policy – they play the Jesus card. Barack Obama, the most pro-choice person, never mind president, in the history of the world, is famous for quoting Scripture for political impact.
When pushing immigration reform, the Book of Deuteronomy 10:19 came in handy for Obama, who said, “Love ye therefore the stranger; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.” At the Tucson Memorial, the President cited the Book of Job. For the National Prayer Breakfast, how about a little misquoted Isaiah 40:31?
Jumping into the debt-ceiling fray, Charlie Rangel is also calling upon Scripture. The Congressman is emulating Barack Obama, who at an Easter Breakfast praised “God for the gift of our son — his Son and our Savior” Jesus, who hung on the cross – a symbol that Obama asked be covered up for his Georgetown University speech.
Nonetheless, Charlie must have gotten religion since his ethics conviction in 2010 for financial impropriety, understating his assets, shady campaign office shenanigans, and tax evasion. Seems when asked where the religious leaders are on “all of this” debt-ceiling stuff, a spokesperson for the pious Charlie Rangel said that the “silence of the clergy, of all faiths, has been ‘deafening’ as they consider cutting social programs designed for the poor and elderly.” Which, by the way, are paid for with tax dollars Charlie conveniently forgot to pay.

Preaching the Gospel of social justice, Reverend Rangel said that debt-ceiling questions “are not political,” but rather “moral.” He would know. Rangel is certainly a qualified judge of morality with his 100% support for pro-choice organizations, as well as conveniently avoiding “rendering unto Caesar what is Caesar’s.”
Exhorting the faithful to shun cutting social programs, Rangel said “Let’s do the Lord’s work.” In Democrat-speak, “the Lord’s work” is anything liberals do. “And,” Charlie said, “they,” (whoever ‘they’ are), “will realize this is not justice.”
Seeking “a moral answer,” Rangel said, “Why don’t you call your pastor, your rabbi, your imam. Forget Medicare, CPI and the debt and go back to the Scriptures.”
Charlie, crying out as a voice in the wilderness, asked: “Where is the Good Samaritan?”
Why Charlie, the Good Samaritan is not involved in the debt-ceiling debate, because it’s likely he or she is at an abortion clinic reaching out to women and imploring them not to go through with the abortion you hope government funding will pay for.
So as Reverend Rangel throws Bible verses around and attempts to pose the question “What would Jesus do?” maybe someone should ask him to expound further upon what he thinks Jesus would do if Charlie and his friend Obama asked Him how He felt about government-funded abortion.

The Good Samaritan VOLUNTERED his own efforts! Nobody compelled him to be compassionate! It was a CHOICE!!!!

“Morality” is not interfering with the “free will” of any man (or woman) to live as they choose – so long as they do not violate the rights of others – nor impose upon them for their own existence…
‘Reverend’ Rangel and ‘Bishop’ Obama seem to use the Bible when the needs of social justice calls upon them to appear that they are speaking from a pious position. It’s almost as if they are ‘praying’ for us to listen to the Word. . .But actually, it’s their ‘words’ that are being spoken through the guise of piousness.

To win approval of his gay marriage bill in New York State, Governor Andrew Cuomo offered legal “protection” for religious groups that reject same sex unions. Four misguided Republican Senators broke with their party to back the legislation because of provisions permitting churches to deny their facilities for same sex ceremonies. But why is it acceptable to change the status of people of faith- a clear majority of the American public –to the position of some irrelevant minority? Homosexuals, a tiny minority of less than 3%, have imposed on society and government the radical notion that gender doesn’t matter—that a man choosing to marry a man is no different from a man marrying a woman. Meanwhile, the traditional understanding of marriage has been officially rejected by government, and will be tolerated only as a matter of religious dissent.
In other words, why should an “exception” or protection have to be made so that Traditional Bible believing churches will not be sued into oblivion if they will not perform same sex marriages? Shouldn’t this be a given? If a same-sex couple wants to get married at a Justice of the Peace or a church that condones gay marriage then fine, have at it. But if a traditional church will NOT perform a same sex for biblical and moral reasons they should never be compelled to perform the ceremonies period end of story. WHY do exceptions need to be made?
To my understanding Gay Marriage may become the law of all 50 states very soon. If that happens, I guess I can do nothing about it since it seems to be imposed on the people by the courts and the state legislatures. And I will deal with it.
But, if a bible believing church in my area is ever forced/compelled/cajoled to perform a same sex marriage or risk a lawsuit and/or closure, my ass if out with a picket sign the day the same sex couple is getting married.
Democrats have been celebrating non-stop the fact that Kathy Hochul won the special congressional election in upper state New York. They claim it’s a vindication of their left-wing agenda. What they don’t publicize is the inconvenient truth that while Hochul garnered 47% of the vote to Jane Corwin’s 43%, her margin of victory, 4,694 votes, would have vanished if 9,495 people in the district hadn’t been conned into voting for a jackass named Jack Davis.
Davis, who, in spite of having repeatedly run and lost as a Democrat in prior elections, this time around claimed to be the Tea Party candidate. The fact that this liberal in sheep’s clothing managed to pull off such a dopey scam, in spite of being denounced as a fraud by the Tea Party, points out the weakness inherent in democracy; namely, that all sorts of morons get to vote.
In other words after trying to discredit, maim, cajole, slander and bully the Tea Party – the Dems threw a “Trojan Horse” into this campaign as a Tea Party candidate. He was able to draw enough votes ala Ross Perot away from the GOP candidate where the Dem candidate won with 47% of the vote.
All Kathy Hochul said was that she would not vote to cut Medicare – the voters didn’t care about anything EXCEPT if there medical benefits were cut and Ms Hochul won.
Republican politician resigns after woman’s web search reveals ‘fit fun classy guy’ posing as divorcee to be in fact married with a son
It didn’t do Vladimir Putin any political harm being photographed topless and muscular. But then again Putin was fishing in the wilderness, not – as was newly resigned Republican congressman Chris Lee – apparently trawling for extra-marital fun on a “women seeking men” internet forum.
The 46-year-old New York representative resigned hours after the Gawker website reproduced a seemingly self-posed mobile phone picture of Lee’s admittedly trim torso, which he sent to a woman on the Craigslist site, claiming to be a “very fit fun classy guy” who was divorced.
Lee – in fact married with a son – said he in a statement was stepping down: “I regret the harm that my actions have caused my family, my staff and my constituents. I deeply and sincerely apologize to them all. I have made profound mistakes and I promise to work as hard as I can to seek their forgiveness.”
The salutary tale for all politicians in an age of instant communication began in mid-January when a 34-year-old single woman placed a post on Craigslist’s “women seeking men” section, inviting response from “financially & emotionally secure” males. Using his own Gmail account Lee replied, describing himself as divorced and 39, and later sending the shirtless shot. There followed some mild email flirtation, with the woman mockingly asking whether the picture came from “a JC Penny ad” and Lee describing a supposed recent disastrous date.
Lee’s downfall came when the woman carried out a web search and discovered her internet suitor’s identity, real marital status and age. She forwarded the correspondence to Gawker, which subsequently published it.
Presented with the evidence, Lee’s spokesman initially insisted the politician’s email account had been hacked and that he was “happily married”.
But several hours later he had resigned.“I have to work this out with my wife,” Lee told a Fox News reporter.
Lee was a member of two powerful House committees – the tax-drafting ways and means and financial services. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2008 and was re-elected in November.
“But several hours later he had resigned.”
At least this man had the honor to resign – within hours. Not days or weeks like Weiner. Oh, wait he didn’t resign, he is hoping that because of the magnitude of his great work in Congress he will be excused for this “indiscretion”.
“I have to work this out with my wife,” Lee told a Fox News reporter.
“I will humiliate my wife in public and give her the further humiliation of making her sit through a press conference while I shame myself. Weiner reportedly told himself.

In a bit of Political Irony though, Christopher Lee (R-NY) resigned in February after he mailed a shirtless photograph of himself to a woman on Craigslist.
Lee manned up and tendered his resignation immediately, Weiner doesn’t seem to be that type of man.
